Common Space worked as a design partner in 2016 to launch the first artist-run super PAC For Freedoms, using visual media to inspire political engagement. The billboard “Make America Great Again” is part of a national ad campaign that commissioned works from artists and photographers on topics from gun control to campaign finance for billboards, social media memes, and public transit ads.

Working directly with For Freedom’s founders Hank Willis Thomas and Eric Gottesman, we designed a series of public messaging that appeared on billboards all over the country. In addition, we created site-specific placements for Spotify, NY Live Arts, The International Center of Photography, The Mistake Room, W Magazine, The Performa Gala, Expo Chicago, Hyperallergic, Afropunk, Summit, MTV and more.

This video features a sequence of designs we put together for a moving billboard that drove around downtown Miami during election week.
